The PSA Business Intelligence Division is a regular contributor to American Chamber of Commerce monthly journal – a long-standing publication read by the international business community across the Philippines. In the latest September 2009 Transportation edition, PSA authored the piece titled “Lack of Roads Leads us to Nowhere” which highlighted the road and highway development deficiencies across the country. In this article, PSA analyst Benedict Alibasa highlighted infrastructure deficiencies in the Philippines and its negative effects to the conduct of business and trade across the country. The article also indicated how the country’s burgeoning population, particularly that of Metro Manila, is exacerbating traffic woes and the importance of building new road networks and mass transit to decongest the traffic flow in the metropolis.
